According to new Bureau of Labor Statistics data, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is down .8 percent in July from a year ago. In July 2021, the state’s unemployment was 3.8 percent and last month unemployment was 3.0 percent. Meaning that currently the state’s unemployment rate is significantly under the national average of 3.5 percent.

Regarding jobs, in Eau Claire, roughly 200 non farm jobs were created in July and since June 2021 the area has added a total of 600 new jobs.

The new jobs, in addition to the state unemployment numbers, are a positive sign for the future of Northwest Wisconsin’s economy.
