Packers Struggles Continue After the Bye Week

After a much-needed bye week, the Packers were hoping for some better fortune in the Mile High City, but left disappointed following a 19-17 loss to the Denver Broncos. The loss is the Packers third straight and moves the team to 2-4 on the season.

The Packers offensive struggles continued during a sluggish first half. The team entered the locker room down 9-0 following three drives ending in punts and a fourth that ended in a missed 43 yard field goal. The second half was better offensively, but after an opening field goal by the Packers and a touchdown by the Broncos, the 16-3 deficit was ultimately too much to overcome. The second half saw quarterback Jordan Love throw two touchdowns, but an interception late in the fourth quarter sealed the team’s fate.

Defensively, the team was largely able to contain Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, only allowing him to throw for 194 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was the Broncos only one of the day. Ultimately, however, a lack of offensive production spelled the team’s fate.

The Packers will look to break their losing streak back at home against the 3-4 Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, October 29th.
