Packers Drop a Close One on the Road Against the Pittsburgh Steelers

A week after breaking their four game losing streak, the Packers tacked on another loss as they fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-19. The loss moved the team to 3-6, and they’re currently third in the NFC North standings.

The Packers were in the game the whole afternoon and heading into the fourth quarter trailed by just a point. But a late fourth quarter field goal by the Steelers and interceptions on consecutive drives by the Packers spelled the team’s fate. Quarterback Jordan Love played three good quarters of football, but his two fourth quarter interceptions were costly. He finished the day with 289 yards and two touchdowns in addition to the picks.

Defensively, though the Packers pass defense limited Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett to just 126 passing yards, the team got run all over, giving up 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Though they gave their offense plenty of opportunities to get back on the field and win the game late, the offense failed to capitalize.

The Packers head back home to Lambeau where they’ll welcome the 4-5 Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, November 19th.
