It was another good month for the Badger State, as the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development released the latest local job figures for October. The report revealed a decline in unemployment rates across all 12 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) last month.
Two statistical areas are located in Northern Wisconsin, including the Eau Claire and Wausau areas. In Eau Claire, unemployment dropped by 0.2 percent to 2.8 percent, and Wausau saw a slightly larger drop of 0.3 percent to 2.7 percent.
Overall, the state’s cities and counties had a positive month, as unemployment rates declined or went unchanged in all 35 major cities and all 72 counties.
